Tax Return Organizers

Tax return organizers are only available for individual income tax returns, Form 1040.

Businesses and other entities -- corporations (1120), S-corporations (1120S), partnerships and LLCs (1065), trusts (1041) and non-profits (990) -- must have their data properly entered and balanced in QuickBooks and a copy of the data file sent in to be used for tax prep. See more details on how to send us the data files.

For individuals who have taken our advice and have their info entered into QuickBooks, there is some confusion as to whether they still need to work with the organizers.

You don't need to enter in the organizer anything that is already in your QuickBooks, such as income and expense amounts. We will get all of that directly from the QB file.

We do need you to answer the questionnaire and enter any info that isn't in QuickBooks, such as non-cash donations and vehicle mileage, as well as the personal and dependent info.

Before sending us your QuickBooks data, please look over the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports for the year being worked on and verify that everything is posted accurately and the accounts are properly reconciled. I will be quickly checking for obvious errors; but I don't have time to verify every single entry.
